We met while mentoring high school students. Yash in London and Shreyans in Mumbai, and quickly bonded over a shared passion for democratizing access to mentorship.
Yash came through the UK’s grammar school system and later cracked India’s toughest engineering entrance exams. Shreyans worked at D.E. Shaw and later in edtech, where he mentored hundreds of ambitious students. Along the way, we kept noticing a pattern: incredibly talented students were missing out on research opportunities simply because they didn’t have the right access.
We’d seen firsthand how transformative research can be. It builds confidence, sparks curiosity, and gives students a voice. But most research programs were either too expensive, too exclusive, or too out of reach for the students who needed them most.
That’s why we started RISE Research.
RISE Research was built to level the playing field. Our goal was to take the kind of research experiences found in elite schools and international summer programs and make them accessible to driven students anywhere in the world.
Since then, we’ve grown into a global community. Our mentors from the Ivies, Oxbridge, MIT, and Stanford work closely with students to develop original research, publish papers, and apply their ideas to real-world challenges. Today, our students are earning places at top global universities — not because of privilege, but because of their work.
We’d love for you to be part of this journey — as a student, mentor, school partner, or simply someone who believes every young mind deserves the chance to RISE (pun very much intended).
