Ayushi is a PhD student in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan, where she studies how genetic variation influences behavior using Drosophila. She completed her bachelor’s in Zoology at the University of Delhi and her master’s in Reproductive Biology and Clinical Embryology at AIIMS Delhi, and has worked on model organisms including C. elegans, mice, and human cell lines. She has been a graduate student instructor for three undergraduate courses.

Teaching & Mentoring Experience
I have been a graduate student instructor/ teaching assistant for 3 undergrad courses during the course of my PhD. These were - Genetics, Cell biology and Intro to biology (lab skills). These courses required me to teach 20 hours per week for each semester. So, overall I have taught for about 1.5 years. Besides being a teaching assistant, I have had the opportunity to mentor research trainees in my lab as well as help them come up with project ideas for their undergrad thesis.
